For the first time, the poker players of the Philippines will get their first taste of playing a Mystery Bounty event. Popularized in the USA, the event has been taking Las Vegas by storm because of the excitement and fun experienced by the players. In a Mystery Bounty event, bounties are not introduced until players hit the money (ITM), and a bounty can be worth over 10X the buy-in, unlike in a typical bounty event where a player will claim a bounty with a fixed price from 20% up to 30% when he eliminates a player.
“Basically, ITM players collect bounty chips as they eliminate players, and once a player that has collected a bounty chip gets eliminated, they get to draw to a pile of sealed envelopes that will contain the value of the bounty they will be awarded. Just picturing someone getting lucky enough to draw the top prize is making me excited and will be fun to watch!” States Lloyd Fontillas – General Manager and Executive Tournament Director of the Asian Poker Tour.
Every event is a Mystery Bounty event, Main and four side events with a guarantee of over three million. 19 tables, including cash games, playing 8 handed will be allocated to the event. The event runs over four days, Thursday to Sunday, from January 20th-23rd 2022, at Resorts World Manila (Subject to Regulatory Approval).
“It has been very challenging for poker these last couple of years due to the pandemic and nature of the game. But we are excited to be hosting a poker tournament to kick off 2022 with the APT, and everyone can expect us to be hosting many poker events this coming year despite the challenges” Quoted by Arturo Basa – Resorts World Manila Gaming Operations Director.
