Everything you need to know on the MAIN EVENT – VND 8 Billion guaranteed

The most desired title of the Asian Poker Tour is of course the MAIN EVENT. Not only do champions walk away with huge winnings, they also earn worldwide recognition for their achievement.  Through the years, this event has been praised as the tournament with the best structure in the region. For APT Vietnam 2019, a guarantee of VND 8 Billion (~USD 342,000) awaits. If our past visits are an indicator of what’s to come, then expect a big field with the guarantee well surpassed. (Structure)

The MAIN EVENT runs a total of six days with three starting days to enter. It is important to note that “each starting day plays out 8 levels”. Blinds increase every 60 minutes. Registration closes at the start of Level 10 in Day 2. Schedule breakdown below:

Main Event – VND 8 Billion guaranteed

Dates: July 4 to 9
Buy-in: VND 22,000,000 (~USD 950)

Day 1A: Thursday, July 4
Day 1B: Friday, July 5
Day 1C: Saturday, July 6

Day 2: Sunday, July 7
Day 3: Monday, July 8

*Cards in the air promptly at 1pm daily. The final table will stream live on APT Twitch and APT YouTube

Bubble Protection

As always, Main Event bubble protection is in effect. For those new to this fantastic incentive, it is a type of insurance policy during the bubble round. If a protected player busts on the bubble, that player will receive their buy-in back in the form of APT tournament credits. To be eligible, all you need to do is follow these three simple steps:

  • Pre-register
  • Draw for your seat before the starting time
  • Have your chips put into play on the first deal of Level 1

*Eliminated players wanting bubble protection on the next starting day will have to qualify again.
