**MANILA, Philippines - November 10, 2022** - 2023 is set to be a busy and exciting year for poker in Asia with the release of an action-packed live events schedule from the Asian Poker Tour (APT). Some of the most popular APT tournaments are returning, bigger and better than ever before, alongside brand new events yet to be announced.

The Asian poker season launches with **APT Manila 2023** held at the luxurious Newport World Resorts from February 3-12. The ten-day series features the PHP 77,000 (~USD $1300) buy-in Main Event which comes with a PHP 30,000,000 (~USD $516,000) prize pool guarantee.

Asian Poker Tour announces 2023 Calendar

PASAY CITY, Philippines – Mike Takayama of the Philippines claimed his third Asian Poker Tour (APT) Player of the Series (POS) plum, successfully fending off Japan’s Katsuhiro Kawai by virtue of winning an astounding **four titles** and also getting a staggering **eight ITM finishes** during the course of the competition in the APT 2022 Philippines here at the [Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts](https://www.newportworldresorts.com/).

Takayama, who was also previously feted as POS in the 2019 Taiwan leg and just last summer in the initial Philippines sortie, was officially named the best performer in a simple ceremony held earlier. He finished the leg with a total of **1,572.27 ranking points**.

The WSOP Bracelet holder prevailed in **(Event #8)** the **PhP60,000 (US$1,058) Single-Day High-Rollers**, **(Event #16)** the **PhP60,000 (US$1,058) Hyper Single-Day High-Rollers**, **(Event #30)** the **PhP40,000 (US$705) High-Rollers 6-Max Hyper Turbo** and just today triumphing in **(Event #36)** the **PhP150,000 (US$2,645) 2-Day High-Rollers**.

He also finished as the Runner-Up in **(Event #1)** the **Mystery Bounty**. 

For taking down the POS title, Takayama receives a special trophy, the POS Ring of Honor and **an automatic seat in the Main Event** in Danang for the [APT 2022 Vietnam Da Nang VSOP](https://www.theasianpokertour.com/series/apt-da-nang-vietnam-vsop-2022) this coming December.

Kawai, who notched two titles and six ITM placings, finished in second place with **1,103.03** while Christopher “Big Time” Mateo of the Philippines, who took second place in the Main Event but also had three ITM finishes, placed third with **903.63**. Both gentlemen garner special trophies for their achievement.

PASAY CITY, Philippines – **Paul Kiem** of the United States wins the **Championships Event** in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines in record-breaking fashion, needing only one hand to be dealt in the Heads-Up duel against William Teoh of Malaysia to collect the top prize of **PhP4,196,300 (US$74,008)** besting a field of **236 entries** at the [Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts](https://www.newportworldresorts.com/) here.

Kiem, whose older brother **Peter** is a veteran on the tour, came into the Heads-Up encounter for the title with a stack of 8.6 million after busting out third placer James Mendoza of the Philippines. Prior to that he was in a huge hand against Teoh wherein which he almost leveled the chip-counts. 

Before coming over on the prodding of Peter, Paul had a few cashes in Los Angeles and Las Vegas but none anywhere close to the significance of this haul.

Teoh, on the other hand, lands his second runner-up finish in the Championships Event as also feel short against eventual titlist Dave “Spade” Erquiaga last September. 

Making it to two straight Heads-Up showdowns, though, is more than impressive for the young Malaysian whose aggressive brand of play has made him among the most feared competitor in the field.

Teoh collected **PhP2,797,700 (US$49,342)** for his amazing effort while Mendoza got **PhP1,944,900 (US$34,302)** for his third place finish.

PASAY CITY, Philippines – Moses “Mo Jiggy” Saquing lost the chip-lead for about three orbits and when he recovered, there was no looking back for the Nueva Vizcaya native in his quest to attain greatness for the second time this year as he adds the Main Event trophy of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines to his collection of hardware here at the [Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts](https://www.newportworldresorts.com/).

Coming into the **Final 8** as the chip-leader, Saquing wasted no time in turning his stack into a weapon as he waylaid three of his opponents in the finale, including eventual runner-up Christopher “Big Time” Mateo enroute to the title and the **PhP4,915,000 (US$85,728)** champion’s prize.

So dominating was Saquing’s performance that by the time third place finisher Jonald Garcia got eliminated by Mateo, the stack sizes were severely imbalanced that it would only take a matter of time before the inevitable would happen.

Heading into the Heads-Up duel for the crown, Saquing enjoyed a near 4-1 chip edge, 9,295,000 to 2,690,000. Mateo did double-up twice along the way, but Saquing just kept on recovering and never relinquished the lead.

The end came as Mateo opened for 300k and Saquing defended.

The Flop was 10♦ 9♦ 5♥. Both gentlemen checked.

The Turn produced a J♣ to which Saquing lead for 350K and without even flinching, Mateo called.

The River had the 4♥ and Saquing went all-in. Mateo opted to call and down he went as he tabled 6♥ 6♠ to the J♥ 10♥–two pair on the Turn for the title.

The triumph was the second major title for the year for the Daly City resident as he took down the Championships Event in the first installment here last May. 

Mateo, who won the Main Event in the 2019 APT Philippines, received.

Moses Saquing dominates, takes down of APT 2022 Philippines Main Event

**MANILA, PHILIPPINES, October 20, 2022** – Today, the **Asian Poker Tour**(APT) announced the schedules for the last two stops of 2022 at Manila, Philippines and Da Nang, Vietnam.

“It’s going to be an exciting finish to the calendar year.” said APT President Neil Johnson. “We’ve taken a lot of player feedback and expanded the Manila and Da Nang schedules for a very robust offering.”
