Big Names, Familiar Faces at APT Philippines 2010

APT Philippines

Get your chance to play against top pros from Asia and around the world at APT Philippines 2010, which is less than a week away!

The biggest name who has already confirmed his attendance is none other than poker legend Johnny Chan, a back-to-back WSOP main event winner and the proud owner of ten career bracelets.

Also in attendance will be the decorated members of The Poker Pack such as JC Tran, Nam Le, and Quinn Do. The three, who have combined for millions in career earnings and multiple bracelets, will be players to watch during all the events at APT Philippines 2010.

There will also be a heavy Macau flavor in the field. Familiar names from Asia’s gaming capital who have confirmed their participation in the main event include APT Macau high-roller champion David Steicke, reigning APPT Macau champion Victorino Torres, Charles “Mr. Macau” Chua, and Asian Poker King Tournament winner Elton Tsang. The entire Poker King team, which includes Winfred Yu and Michael Marvanek, will also be playing in the event.

Of course, APT Philippines wouldn’t be complete without reigning champion Neil Arce. The Filipino poker pro is out to defend the title that he won last year for a cash prize of US $185,000. With so many pros in the field, though, he’ll have his work cut out for him.

Others in the field include famous Japanese female pro Kim Wooka as well as bracelet-holder Isaac Galazan from Thailand.

It won’t just be big-name poker pros to watch out for at APT Philippines, though. Famous celebrities from the Philippine showbiz scene will be locking horns in battle during the Celebrity Charity Challenge, which will take place on August 23.

The current roster of local celebrities who will be playing in that event includes Troy Montero, KC Montero, Aubrey Miles, Karen Bordador, Jinno Rufino, Rajo Laurel, Khai Lim, Paloma, Gail Nicolas, Haji Alejandro, Priscilla Meirelles, Chito Miranda, and Paolo Paraiso.

APT Philippines 2010 will take place from August 23 to 29 at Resorts World Manila. Buy-in for the main event set at US $2,500 + US $200.
