APT Championships 2018 in Macau During Golden Week

Following the announcement of the five-year partnership between the Asian Poker Tour and Macau Billionaire Poker, the APT has now secured its schedule for the APT Macau Championships 2018. The exciting twelve-day event will be held in the gambling capital of Macau from April 25th – May 6th 2018 at the Babylon Casino during Japan’s Golden Week holiday. APT Executive Tournament Director Lloyd Fontillas stated,

“With the APT Macau Championships 2018 announcement coming this early, and with it taking place in Macau during the prime time slot of Japan’s Golden Week, players can expect to see record-breaking fields in each and every event with a schedule made to cater to all types of bankrolls.”

The inaugural APT Championships, the brand’s biggest poker festival of the year took place in April at Resorts World Manila in the Philippines. The event ran a course of twelve days, overlapping the 10-day long Japanese Golden Week holiday. In attendance were 730 unique players taking part in various events throughout the festival. The schedule featured a USD 1,100 buy-in Main Event that drew in 442 entries, a USD 2,200 buy-in Championships event with 189 entries, and 18 action-packed side events that saw a turnout of 318 entries for the opening event.

With this latest announcement, the APT Macau Championships 2018 becomes the second declared APT event to be hosted in the MBP room since signing the five-year agreement between the two brands. The venue suits the APT’s needs perfectly with the room able to comfortably fit in 40 tables. Two months ago, the room drew in over 800 entries for its MBP Hope Cup Main Event impressively exceeding its HKD 20 million guarantee. The first scheduled APT event is the upcoming APT Finale Macau Championships 2017 from November 29th – December 10th.
