Taiwan’s TaoWei Chang Scores Second APT Title in Event #56: PL Omaha High - Lazy Rivers

Getting underway at 1pm local time on Thursday, May 2, the KRW 600,000 Event #56: PL Omaha High - Lazy Rivers (Individual River Card Face Up) attracted 63 entries (42 unique), with these Omaha aficionados battling over twenty-six 25-minute levels for a share of the KRW 32,999,400 (~USD 24,000) prize pool.

It was Taiwan’s TaoWei Chang who circumnavigated the tournaments choppy waters, defeating the UK’s Craig Cooper heads-up to claim a KRW 9,619,400 (~USD 7,050) top prize and his second career APT title.

Cooper collected KRW 6,930,000 (~USD 5,080) for his fifth final table showing of the series, with Japan’s Daiki Aoki – also making an impressive fifth final nine appearance – taking KRW 4,500,000 (~USD 3,300) for third place. A total of nine players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:

China’s Jiageng Zhang Earns Maiden APT Title With Event #57: NL Hold'em – Freezeout Win

Action in the KRW 800,000 Event #57: NL Hold'em - Freezeout kicked off at 2pm local time with the tournament drawing a 201-strong field and generating a KRW 140,378,400 (~USD 102,080) prize pool.

It proved to be a lengthy affair, with players duking it out over twenty-nine 25-minute levels, with the tournament concluding in the early hours of Friday morning. It was China’s Jiageng Zhang who saw off all comers, defeating compatriot Kun Wang heads-up to claim his maiden APT title and the **KRW 31,108,400 (~USD 22,830) top prize.

Wang earned KRW 20,990,000 (~USD 15,400) for his runner-up finish, with Singapore’s Kim Wah Chi completing the podium line up and taking KRW 14,440,000 (~USD 10,600) for third place.

Other notables to cash but come up short of the final table included former Main Event champion’s Feng Zhao of Singapore (15th for KRW 2,110,000), and Yohn Paredes of Peru (25th for KRW 1,540,000) with a total of 27 players making the money and the final table paying out as follows:

One of the last three events on the schedule for the day, the KRW 500,000 Event #60: Tick Tock BOOM! (Levels Decrease Every Hour 15/10/5/2) got underway at 9pm local time, attracting a 55 entry (45 unique) field.

Players fought it out for a share of the KRW 23,740,750 (~USD 17,345) prize pool, with the action playing out over 31 levels and the two-minute level length cap reached midway through.

It proved to be trophy time for China’s Juncai Han who bested Canada’s Yuanfu Zhang heads-up to claim his maiden APT title and the **KRW 7,120,750 (~USD 5,225) top prize, with Zhang banking KRW 5,150,000 (~USD 3,780) for his runner-up finish.

Thailand’s Rannara Thanaboonpamorn rounded out the podium, taking KRW 3,320,000 (~USD 2,440) for third place, with eight players making the money and the tournament paying out as follows:

An action-packed No Limit hyper turbo variation of the R-O-S-E format, the KRW 300,000 Event #61: Hyper Turbo - NL R-O-S-E (Razz, Omaha Hi-Lo, Stud, Stud Hi-Lo) got underway at 10pm and saw 27 entries (22 unique) battle it out over nineteen turbo-charged 10-minute levels for a share of the KRW 6,914,160 (~USD 5,050) prize pool.

Canada’s Julian Cheung showed off his mixed game skills to the best effect, defeating China’s Zhong Zheng heads-up to collect the KRW 2,904,160 (~USD 2,130) top prize and claim his maiden APT title.

Zheng banked KRW 1,940,000 (~USD 1,420) for his runner-up finish, with Taiwan’s Yu Tang Wang (3rd for KRW 1,240,000), and China’s Ziwen Liu (4th for KRW 830,000) the only two other players to make the money.

A fun twist on NLHE where players receive three hold cards and discard one post flop, the KRW 300,000 Event #62: Super Hyper Turbo - Crazy Pineapple got underway at 11pm drawing 40 entries (38 unique) and generating a KRW 10,243,200 (~USD 7,485) prize pool.

It was China’s Qing Bo Gao who claimed the accolades, besting compatriot Yiguang Xu heads-up to take the KRW 3,473,200 (~USD 2,550) top prize and claim his maiden live tournament title.

Xu received KRW 2,410,000 (~USD 1,770) for his runner-up finish, with Japan’s Teruhiko Kabasawa completing the winner’ triumvirate and taking KRW 1,540,000 for third place. A total of six players made the money with tournament paying out as follows:
