China’s Wei Zhao Wins Maiden APT Title in Event #5: Turbo - NL Omaha

The second of the festival’s scheduled Omaha events – the KRW 400,000 Event #5: Turbo - NL Omaha – drew 39 entries (24 unique), with players duking it out over 18 fast-paced 15-minute levels for a share of the KRW 13,467,480 (~USD 70,000) prize pool.

It was China’s Wei Zhao who claimed the accolades and the KRW 4,984,480 (~USD 3,620) top prize, defeating compatriot Xixiang Luo heads-up, earning his maiden APT title in the process.

Luo, who was gunning for a second career APT title, had to settle for the KRW 3,434,000 (~USD 2,490) on offer for second place, with Singapore’s Jia Ho rounding out the winner’s podium and collecting KRW 2,188,000 (~USD 1,590) for third place.

Japan’s Daiki Aoki and Taiwan’s Hung Hsiang Wu were the only other players to make the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:

Philippines’ Marc Rivera Wins Second Career APT Title in Event #6: Hyper Turbo

The first of the festival’s late night turbo tournaments – the KRW 700,000 Event 6: Hyper Turbo – got underway at 8:30pm local time, drawing a 36-strong field (32 unique), generating a KRW 21,999,600 (~USD 15,970) prize pool.

The action played out over 20 turbo-charged 10-minute levels, with the Philippine’s #1 ranked tournament player Marc Rivera adding a second career APT title to his stacked poker resume.

Rivera bested Japan’s Kojiro Fujimoto heads-up to claim the KRW 8,139,600 (~USD 5,900) top prize, with Fujimoto collecting KRW 5,610,000 for his runner-up finish.

China’s Song Xue took bronze and a payout of KRW 3,575,000 (~USD 2,600) for third place, with Taiwan’s Chien-Chih "Maggie" Weng and China’s Teng Ma the only two other players to cash, with the tournament paying out as follows:

Japan’s Ryosuke Aihara Wins Maiden Live Tournament Title in Event #7: Super Hyper Turbo

The last of the opening day’s tournaments to play out was the KRW 300,000 Event 7: Super Hyper Turbo which saw 52 entries (49 unique) battling it out for a slice of the KRW 13,316,160 (~USD 9,670) prize pool.

It took Japan’s Ryosuke Aihara 24 lightning-fast 5-minute levels to claim his maiden live tournament title, defeating compatriot Takuya Inoue to take the KRW 4,194,160 (~USD 3,050) top prize, with Inoue receiving a KRW 3,029,000 (~USD 2,200) payout for his runner-up finish.

Mongolia’s Jambaldorj Bagadelger collected KRW 1,931,000 (~USD 1,400) for third place, with APT Taipei 2024 Zodiac Classic champion Jun Li taking KRW 1,465,000 (~USD 1,060) for fourth place.

Hong Kong’s Hon Cheong “Ivan” Lee also made a final table appearance, taking KRW 866,000 (~USD 630) for sixth place. A total of seven players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:
