China’s Changliang Sun Shines in Event #32: Turbo - High Roller

The KRW 1.1M Event #32: Turbo - High Roller got underway at 7:15pm local time on Monday, April 29, attracting 98 entries (80 unique) who fought it out at the felt over twenty-one fast-paced 15-minute levels, all looking to claim their share of the KRW 94,109,400 (~USD 68,375) prize pool.

It was Changliang Sun’s time to shine, with the Chinese player defeating seasoned tournament grinder Jeffrey Lo heads-up to claim his maiden live tournament title and a KRW 24,699,400 (~USD 17,890) top prize.

Lo – making his second final table showing of the series – was once again forced to settle for second best after finishing runner-up in the APT Super High Roller the day prior, with the Hong Kong native earning KRW 17,320,000 (~USD 12,540) for his second runner-up finish of the festival.

China’s Qing Bo Gao rounded out the last of the podium places, taking KRW 11,430,000 (~USD 8,275) for third place, with a total of 13 players making the money and the tournament paying out as follows:

Taiwan’s Yu Sheng Lin Doubles Down on Series Titles in Event #33: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Double Board - 2 Winners

Taiwan’s Yu Sheng Lin has becomes the latest player to claim a second series title, following in the footsteps of Marc Rivera, Zejun Liu, and Teng Kuei Hsu.

Lin claimed his second trophy of the festival in the KRW 400,000 Event #33: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Double Board - 2 Winners, seeing off challenges from a 51-strong (36 unique) field to take the lion’s share of the KRW 17,611,320 (~USD 12,800) prize pool.

It came down to a heads-up battle against Japan’s Naoto Nishimura to decide the tournament, with Lin taking KRW 5,551,320 (~USD 4,020) for his victory and Nishimura banking KRW 4,010,000 (~USD 2,900) for his runner-up finish.

Japan’s Kojiro Fujimoto claimed bronze and a payout of KRW 2,550,000 (~USD 1,850) for third place, with seven players making the money and the tournament paying out as follows:

Taiwan’s Wei Cheng Yin Claims Maiden APT Title in Event #34: Hyper Turbo

The late-night KRW 500,000 Event #34: Hyper Turbo was the most popular draw of the day outside of the Main Event and saw a field of 123 entries (107 unique) fighting it out for a share of the KRW 53,092,950 (~USD 38,575) prize pool.

The action played out over twenty-two turbo-charged 10-minute levels, with Taiwan’s Wei Cheng Yin claiming the accolades, defeating Hong Kong’s Edward Yam heads-up to take the KRW 13,332,950 (~USD 9,650) top prize and his maiden APT title.

Yam, making his third final table showing of the series, took KRW 9,030,000 (~USD 6,530) for his runner-up finish, with China’s Xianchao Shen rounding out the top three and taking KRW 5,870,000 (~USD 4,250) for third. A total of 17 players made the money, with the final table paying out as follows:

China’s Jie Zheng came up just short of the final nine, collecting KRW 1,090,000 for 10th place, with former Main Event champion Dicky Tsang also making the money, taking KRW 960,000 (~USD 700) for 13th place.

The KRW 300,000 Event #35: Hyper Turbo - NL 8 Game (H-E-R-O-S, Omaha High, Single Draw 2-7, A-5) drew a field of 33 entries (27 unique), generating a KRW 8,450,640 (~USD 6,140) prize pool with the action playing out over twenty-two turbo-charged 10-minute levels.

It was China’s Yin Gui Li the man to take it down, besting compatriot Zhe Fan heads-up to snag the KRW 3,140,640 (~USD 2,270) top prize and his maiden APT title, with Fan receiving a KRW 2,150,000 (~USD 1,550) for his runner-up finish.

The UK’s Craig Cooper made a third final table showing, collecting KRW 1,370,000 (~USD 990) for third place, with five players making the money and the tournament paying out as follows:

Singapore's Jia Long Ho Scores Maiden APT Title With Event #36: Super Hyper Turbo - Super Hold'em Win

The last of the days scheduled tournaments to play out, the KRW 300,000 Event #36: Super Hyper Turbo - Super Hold'em saw 89 entries (81 unique) duking it out for a share of the KRW 22,791,120 (~USD 16,550) prize pool.

A fun take on Hold’em where players receive three hole cards instead of the usual two, and can use all three, the event is an action-packed affair and this tournament continued that trend, with the action playing out over twenty-five high-octane 5-minute levels.

It proved to be third time’s the charm for Jia Long Ho with the Singaporean player converting his third final table appearance of the series into a maiden APT title victory.

Ho defeated Taiwan’s Pin Hao Huang heads-up to claim a KRW 5,991,120 (~USD 4,345) top prize, with Huang collecting KRW 4,190,000 (~USD 3,030) for his runner-up finish. China’s Li Wei Chen rounded out the last of the podium places, taking KRW 2,770,000 (~USD 2,000) for third place, with 13 players making the money and the tournament paying out as follows:
